Belly Pics..

18 Weeks!

This week Baby L is the size of a mango and about 6 inches long! Arms and legs are in proportion and s/he is making more and more movements!

On Sunday I felt s/he for the first time! I was sitting on our back screen porch with my pups and kind of leaning over when I felt a little wave. So I sat up and again I felt the "wave" 2 more times! It was such a surreal moment. I havent felt anything since, but I do get weird pains down there which I friend just told me she read that it could be the baby stretching and pressing on my cervix.

Odd Craving of the Week: Last night my sweet hubby ran to the kitchen to get me oranges and....MILK. ugh, would never eat this together but it was SO GOOD.

Tuesday we get to have another ultrasound! We are seeing the specialist Dr. Wright so he can take an in depth look at the baby's heart due to my nephew having open heart surgery when he was born. This one will take 30 minutes because the doctor will check all parts of the baby like the liver, kidneys, chambers of the heart etc. We are also going to have the dr. write the gender of the baby in an envelope so we can open the first night in our new house!

Week 17!

I am entering into week 17 and I am anxiously awaiting to feel movement from Baby L. I had a doctors appointment Monday and she said I should feeling something between 17-20 weeks :) The appointment went really well, I met Dr. Foiles for the first time. I LOVED her, so far Ive really liked everyone but she just had a really warm personality...she was funny too. When I was asked her about what can/cant do...(bc there are a million opinions online..) I asked about self-tanner and salicylic acid both are a no-no so she says you will be pale and have bad skin lol..David and I were both cracking up bc well its the truth! I finally gained weight, 6 lbs to be exact which is under the typical 10lbs I should be under at this point in my pregnancy. Ive experienced some sciatic nerve twitches in my legs and tushy...which is waking me up at night. Other than that Im still feeling pretty good. Baby L's heart rate was around 150 which the Dr. said was healthy at this time. Last time it was around 160 so Im beginning to wonder if its a boy. They "say" whoever they is that when the heart rate is lower its a boy. I guess we will see at the end of this month!!! I cant wait, either way we are going to be sooo happy! My intuition is saying boy and my moms and some people at work have said that to me but we will have to wait and see! My uterus is the size of a cantaloupe and I can actually press down on my lower abdomen and fee it really well now.
Baby L is growing so much! S/he is already 5 1/2 inches long and is mastering the art of yawning this week! haha- which s/he should be great at because im a constant yawner..even at the gym..its weird. I know Ive said this a million times over but I really cant believe how much Im in love with this baby already, what an amazing feeling. David came home the other night and asked "Are you thinking about feeling baby L all the time?" I replied " um, yes the feeling never leaves, I think about baby L ALL the time." He said I was thinking tonight at work that you must wait and think about feeling those movements all the time. Its funny, I know he is connecting with the Baby but I know he cant possibly feel the connection I feel-at least not yet...feeling very lucky that Im a woman. :)
So this is def happening..haha..my pants are barely zipping..they are currently held together by an elastic hair band. This was NOT comfortable at work today.
But, the great part about being pregnant your pants get tighter and tighter and you still take yourself to the cupcake counter because there isnt any guilt. When you get there its perfectly fine if you cant decide on just one! Apple Spice and Red Velvet...so far Ive had a part of the red velvet and it was heavenly.

15 weeks...and now 16 weeks!

Although the picture is 15 weeks I am 16 as of today!! Time is obviously flying as I sit here and barely have enough time to update my blog! Baby L is the size of an avocado, body fat is beginning to form and Baby L can begin listening! ah, so exciting..tonight Im going to read one of my favorites Guess How Much I Love You. I love this baby so much already its hard to imagine what it will be like the day I can look into his/her eyes, its all so emotional! Hopefully Baby L isnt listening too hard all the time, I sometimes wonder when I get stressed at work and raise my voice how that stress is getting translated to baby. Im trying my hardest to think nice positive thoughts but wow is that hard when you are in the beginning of the year with Kindergarten. October is an exciting month because we get to find out the sex at the end of the month. We are going to have the doc write it down in a sealed envelope. What we will do next I dont know, at the same time we will be moving into the house so we thought about opening it the first night there. We also thought about saving it for Christmas day. If David had his way we wouldnt find out at all, so Im still going back and forth. I have another regular check-up Monday, Im quite sure this time Im going to see some weight gain, and hopefully so. :) Im still working out (not as much) recently went back to some zumba...but Ive been eating non-stop!

Names that I like: Girl-Ava June(month conceived & davids fav granny) Sidney June, Collins (mothers maiden name) Aven Lillias, Boy: Noah Anthony(D's middle name) Collins Anthony
