Week 11!

I am getting so excited that week 12 is right around the corner! Next week we get to hear Baby L's heart beat for the first time! :) This week I am feeling really great, my energy is definitely coming back... almost to "normal." I am eating ALL the time...but I dont really feel like Ive grown any. My only complaint about pregnancy is the breakouts! Its not only on the face...I feel like im 16 again..good thing- it looks like it may be clearly up. I hate breaking out!

We just survived the first Hurricane of the season..which can really put a hungry preggo lady in a bad mood! After going without power for roughly 5 hrs David had to take me out to dinner...you can only satisfy hunger with fruit and granola bars so long. Today was back to normal so I headed to the beach first thing to get in a work out while David surfed...then we went to the house to do some work. We ended up painting the nursery which was really exciting! The color is called barely teal...if baby is a girl Ill accent with pink, greens, orange..if baby is a boy Ill do pale blue, greens and orange. I saw a picture online of a nursery with these colors and LOVED it.

Baby L is about 2 1/2 inches long now. The pituitary gland in the brain is already starting to produce hormones and the bone marrow is producing white blood cells!

Week 10!

So here we are in week 10, only 3 more weeks of my first trimester! I feel like Ive had it "pretty easy" considering the first trimester is almost over and the worst Ive felt is just tired and sometimes nauseated. Not to shabby..I had envisions of much, much worse. Baby L is nearly and inch and a half long..and this week if its a boy Baby L will start producing testosterone! wow!
This weekend I learned 2 things: my size 0 no longer fit and pregnancy = sunburn prone skin! On Saturday I was at the beach alll day and ended with a very pink face/chest which usually does not happen when I wear sunscreen. I was REALLY careful all summer..but lesson learned! On Sunday David golfed in the morning so I headed to Mayfaire to buy some new pants! :) They are actually way comfy, Im used to buying the snuggest pants ever..thats how I measure weight gain and control eating. lol Gap had really cute jeans and NY & Co. had a really good sale on work clothes. I CANT WAIT to have the belly and all :) In 2 weeks we get to see our little angel again and hear the heart beat, I could just shed tears with excitement! This is the best gift Ive ever been given in my life....
I asked David what was 1 quality he'd want for Baby L to have from me and he asked me the same. His response was my positivity and outlook on life, my response was his brain! haha..if he/she can have the brains of daddy and the positivity of mommy...then this baby is already going to do big things!
I will post a new photo soon, I have misplaced my memory card..

First Ultrasound!

Baby L's 1st picture!
Today was such an exiting day for us! We got to see little Baby Longo for the first time, we could see the heart beating along with his/her head and limbs. There was def some tears of relief shed just seeing that everything was okay. We saw Dr. Wilson whom I could tell I really liked! Hopefully he is on call when I deliver. He did say he had never heard of The Ohio State Univ. but I think we all know he is just suppressing his love like everyone else. LOL. I could tell he thoroughly read over my chart before coming in. He knew my history down to a tee. Since my nephew had a very serious heart condition and was born with one coronary artery and my sister had a very serious embolism and cardiomyopathy during delivery he suggested I see the fetal med. Dr on the 17th. This Dr. will check the baby's heart for any abnormalities and then I will have my heart checked but another Dr. in a few weeks. I feel confident that everything will be okay but if there was something wrong that the Dr's could be prepared when I deliver. :)
I cant get over how fast the baby grows and how all the amazing changes are happening between me and the baby all at the same time. It is truely the best experience anyone can go through. (that is if you know what is actually happening) I was surprised when the nurse told us that most people dont read the books..how could you NOT want to know what is happening in your own body?!
Im feeling pretty good and my energy is coming back. I find if I stay busy I think less about being tired and get more accomplished. I've felt less nauseous in the past week which is great!! I've been craving pickles, juice drinks and bagels. Not the healthiest things, so Ive been making sure to add protein to the bagels and bought the 50/50 calorie OJ.

Baby L is the size of an olive. The liver, spleen and gallbladder are forming and the arms/legs can make spontaneous movements although its a while before I can feel anything.
I still havent gained any weight and actually might have lost a couple. I weighed 121 this morning at the Dr. Oh and one more thing...David has kinda convinced me that we should make his/her arrival a surprise...so I am 99% sure we are not going to find out the sex...until I get an itch for shopping..that could change.
